Sacred Heart College is a Catholic girls’ secondary school in Newtown, Geelong, established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1860 and operating continuously on the same 6.6-hectare site. With 1,474 students enrolled in 2024 from diverse socio-economic backgrounds across Geelong and surrounding areas, the College maintains its commitment to Mercy values through accessible fees and equity scholarships for families experiencing financial hardship.
Following Catherine McAuley’s founding vision, Sacred Heart continues the Mercy tradition of addressing injustice and empowering young women through education that responds to contemporary needs and challenges.
