The new Gymnasium Seating Upgrade at Marymede Catholic College’s Doreen campus sets a new benchmark for school sport in the region. Designed by Kosloff Architecture and delivered for Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), the two-court stadium offers the flexibility and scale to host everything from daily physical education through to major sporting fixtures and events — with retractable seating for up to 800 spectators.

Beyond the courts, the facility delivers a complete sporting environment. Dedicated fitness rooms, a gymnasium, and generous change amenities ensure students and staff have everything they need to train, compete, and perform at their best. Extensive landscaping by Outlines Landscape Architecture and two additional external courts extend the footprint further, creating a precinct that puts sport at the centre of campus life.

Completed in 2025, this is a facility built not just for today’s students, but for the generations of athletes, performers, and community members who will follow.

The grandstand required a seating solution that could deliver both functionality and aesthetics appropriate for a high-profile university sporting facility. To achieve this, 554 Centura CT300-46 seats were installed across two standard plastic colours — grey and purple — reflecting the University of Queensland’s iconic brand colours while providing durable, comfortable seating suited to the demands of a busy athletics venue.

This project was coordinated across an experienced team, with Bluecube Seating supplying the seats and Dean Cargo managing the freight logistics to ensure a smooth and timely delivery to site.
